Synopsis

After fighting with her boyfriend, Ettie’s only goal is to drown her sorrows in some Jack Daniels. But when she walks into a country tavern, her attention is immediately redirected to the sexy, older man at the bar. He looks lonely, and sad, and absolutely mouth-watering. Ettie can’t wait to put a smile on his face.

For the first time in two years, Wyatt finds himself jolted out of his grief—and by a spunky, vivacious young woman who somehow sees right into his soul. What follows is a passionate weekend full of more life, laughter, and pure joy than he experienced in twenty years of marriage.

After they part ways, Wyatt realizes that his feelings for Ettie run deeper than lust. He knows she has a boyfriend, but when he finds out that the boyfriend is his own son, Blake, Wyatt is shattered. He despairs of ever overcoming the guilt he’s slowly drowning in. But Ettie’s resilience and optimism might just save him after all.

This Is Now is the sexy, heartwarming story of overcoming grief, embracing love, and learning to live in the moment.

excerpt

He didn’t look up at me when he spoke. He was sopping up hollandaise sauce with a biscuit. “We should do this again, Ettie. Next weekend. How about it?”

My heart was suddenly thundering in my ears. I watched him as he pointedly focused on cleaning his plate. “Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?” I asked.

He finally looked up. Those blue eyes were hypnotic. And heartbreaking. “I’m asking you to have another fun weekend with me. That’s what I’m asking.”

My eyes fluttered as they started to sting. “Do you need to get to know me better before asking me to be your girlfriend?”

His jaw muscles tensed. “Ettie, I…”

“Look, Wyatt. I have had just the absolute best time of my life with you this weekend. I have all the information I need to know I want to be in a relationship with you.”

He snorted and leaned back in his chair. “You don’t know shit about me, Ettie. This was fun. But it was superficial and you know it.”

My chest constricted. I had to take a moment to swallow back the pain. “It wasn’t superficial. I’m sorry it didn’t mean as much to you as it did to me…”

“It meant plenty and that’s why I want to see you again. So let’s do it, Ettie. Next weekend. We’ll meet at the bar Friday and maybe we could road trip down to Gulf Shores or something. Or we could go zip-lining up at Cave City. All kinds of fun shit we could do together. That’s what I want.”

“I want to go home with you.”

He looked away and shook his head in frustration.

Erin Timms took a new job as a veterinarian in Sunshine, Colorado for two important reasons: to get away from her ex, and to give herself a chance at a new life. But when devastating news of her ex follows her there, she begins to think she has made a terrible mistake.

Tall, stunning-looking Jon Miles had only one goal: to save the mountain canyon where Sunshine is located from businessmen who want to exploit it. But how can he do that when he is already an outcast?

There was nothing to suggest they’d ever meet, much less strike a spark of red-hot romance. Except that Erin can never turn away a stray. . .

She loves reading as well as writing, and some of my favourite novels are books like Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James, the Fade series by Kate Dawes, as well as anything by Nikki Sex. The Dominion of Atalanta is at war. But for eighteen-year-old Aris, the fighting is nothing more than a distant nightmare, something she watches on news vids from the safety of her idyllic seaside town. Then her boyfriend, Calix, is drafted into the Military, and the nightmare becomes a dangerous reality.

Left behind, Aris has nothing to fill her days. Even flying her wingjet—the thing she loves most, aside from Calix—feels meaningless without him by her side. But there’s a catch: She must disguise herself as a man named Aristos. There are no women in the Atalantan Military, and there never will be.

Aris gives up everything to find Calix: her home. Her family. Even her identity. But as the war rages on, Aris discovers she’s fighting for much more than her relationship. Destructive Release is the third and final book in A Destructive Novel Series and picks up where Destructive Choices left off.

A beautiful pearl is created from the smallest grain of sand. My fingers trace a pattern in the sand, how can something so precious come from something so painful?

Grief-stricken, Lacey realizes reality has caught up to her.

She was silent, but it kept her trapped as if she was a frightened little girl. When Lacey finally speaks up, secrets are uncovered that will forever haunt her.

She made choices, but they seemed to only hurt those she loved. When Lacey tries to stand up for herself, she is confronted with a choice. A choice she will be forced to live with for the rest of her life.

If life hands you more grief than happiness, what will it take to move on? When the guilt of letting someone down consumes you?

Drowning in her sorrow, will she be able to pull through her inner demons to obtain happiness?

Aylsha’s Thoughts: L.U. Ann has made me cry harder then ever in book 3 than her first two in the Destructive Series. I know it was mentioned that these are based on her life, but actually having her remind you if the fact in the beginning of Destructive Release just rips your heart out. She truly opens up her whole life to you in these books. She is such and amazing and strong woman to handle everything she’s been through and you can tell she’s also an amazing mom. She. Rings to life her struggles and the lives she is surrounded by. You definitely need to read the first two books first, but as amazing as these books are make sure you carry plenty of tissues.

Lacey is still in mourning thinking her husband may have died in a plane crash, but there’s no time to mourn too long. She still needs to continue on with her plan to get her son back from her ex husband, Caine, who had kidnapped him. While making sure Caine thinks she’s staying with him he takes advantage of the situation, he tries to make her his once again; sexually. Thank goodness Becca, her best friend is there the keep her going on the plan. Finally returning home Lacey is hit with the hard truth Devon won’t be returning home. She doesn’t know how she is going to survive this life. First her mom then the love of life. Lacey is so lost and now she will have to face the world again with another baby, Devon’s baby. Devon was able to survive the crash which help heal Lacey in some ways, she may be able to get her happy ending. Until she’s faced with bipolar disorder along with her son, her daughter also has some challenging issues as well. Lacey shows so much strength and making sure she stays healthy enough to gets her children healthy. She also shows that without Devon she would have a very difficult time. He has proven to Lacey just how much of a wonderful father and husband he really is.

Meet the Author

Author L.U. Ann moved to Colorado from the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband and two children. Life in Colorado is so much different. In Maryland, you would find her in the garden tending to her vegetables and flowers, sea glass and shark tooth hunting once a week, and enjoying the kids swimming in the backyard. Her life took a drastic change when her family moved to their own “Little House on the Prairie” at an elevation of over 6,000 feet above sea level, and a semi-arid climate that makes it hard to grow anything. While barely anything can grow where she resides now, the wildlife makes up for it. Mountain Lions, and coyotes, and rattlesnakes, oh my!

She tries to spend a little time each day writing, but domestic chores around the house usually take precedence. She would much rather hide them from her husband. She tends to her loving four-legged children who at times become much too demanding when she locks herself in the office. This often results in MORE domestic work, and she finds herself cleaning up after their deviant behavior.

At night, you’ll find her begging the kids to go to bed so that she can catch up on the latest book before her sister can. Yes, she is an avid reader who escapes her chaotic but wonderful home to the feisty depths of romance land in search of her newest book boyfriend. Shh, don’t tell her husband.

She is an artist by the grace of God. She worked as a set designer for six years, helping establish a local children’s theatre where she was the scenery artist, set, and prop designer. Before that, you would find her covered in paint, so engrossed in painting a mural that time didn’t exist. Graphic design is her guilty pleasure.

Destructive Choices is the second book in The Destructive Series. Each book will hit its reader with lots of angst hoping for a happily ever after.

Synopsis

Stay up all night with the sexy rockers in Stage Dive, the epic rock star romance series from New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott, author of Lick and Play.

As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it’s booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble.

Lena’s not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far and Lena leaves, he realizes that he may just have lost the best thing that ever happened to him.

My Thoughts: Let me tell you I know a lot of people didn’t like Jimmy but screw you I did! I could tell he was an amazing man who just hadn’t found the right person who could bring out all of this best qualities! Holy geez I freaking love Kylie Scott and the men she makes and the women she makes to love them!!!! Jimmy poor wonderful hot misjudged Jimmy!! He was dealt such a shit hand in life and he has never talked to anyone about it, so he has been holding everything in and that is never a good thing. When the guys make him hire Lena she changes everything. She fights him and pushes him and makes him do things he does not want to do! She knows she is pushing him and yes she knows it might not be the right thing but its working and that is all that matters.
She makes him talk and open up and become a person.
Lena is fighting very hard to not fall for the person that Jimmy is; she sees him for who he is and whats inside and she can’t stop her feelings. She does everything in her power to stop and when that doesn’t work she tries to leave but alas this doesnt work either!!! What I really loved about Lena is she is a fighter and she is a normal girl! I mean come on she is a size freaking 12 HELLO THAT IS THE NORM PEOPLE!! I’m a size 12 and I am very proud of it. I love that Lena is proud of it too. She loves her junk food and she doesn’t care if anyone else doesn’t like it. THIS IS AMAZING!! We need more of these girls in our lives.

Now at the same time, Jimmy does not want her to go, he does not want to open up to her, he wants to be left alone. He is afraid of himself  so much so that he is resisting everything his friends are trying to do. He does not see that he is letting Lena in and he is doing wonderfully nice things for her because he believes himself to be an awful person.

We all know from the previous books that Jimmy’s mom is a horrible horrible person she has no right to try and come back into his life and when she make her choice to show up the only thing she ever wants is money! I hate her! You know you never want to hate anyone but I think I do really hate this person in this book!!! GRRR I could never even think of not talking to my kids everyday loving my babies everyday. This makes me heart hurt even more for Jimmy.
My gosh I loved this book it was so good! I know everyone says they cry, laugh, and everything in books but with this one you really do!!!
I did cry and I did laugh and my heart broke so much for Lena and Jimmy! I really like that Kylie lets us see everyone else and what they are up too it is amazing!!!

Thank you Kylie for yet another wonderful book!!!

Excerpt

“Lena, you seen my old black Led Zep shirt?”

“Nope.”

“You sure?” His brows became one dark cranky line. The scratches on his face were healing well, thank goodness. Though it didn’t reduce my desire to throttle his mother on a daily basis.

“Yes. I haven’t seen it.”

Can’t find it anywhere…”

“And this is a surprise, how?” I slipped my hands into my back jean’s pockets. “Jimmy, you own more clothing than Cher, Brittney, and Elvis, put together. Things are bound to go missing.”

“Sure you haven’t seen it?”

“For goodness sake, what do you think, Jimmy? That I stole it to sleep in or something?” I laughed bitterly. Sure as hell, the truth deserved a good mocking. I’d sunk so despicably low.

I hadn’t even meant to steal the stupid thing, but the shirt had been mixed up with my laundry a few days ago. It’d been the first top I laid my hand on after stepping out of the shower, ready to go to bed. Without thought, I’d put it on and it’d been so soft, the scent of him lingering beneath the laundry detergent. Every night since, I’d found myself in it come bedtime. My shame knew no limits. And no, I still hadn’t quit. The words still hadn’t come even close to leaving my mouth.

He frowned. “No.”

“That I have some deep secret longing to feel close to you resulting in my stealing your shirt like some creepy perv?”

“Course I don’t fucking think that,” he replied crankily, reaching up to grip the top of the doorframe. All of his bulging muscles stretched the arms of his white T-shirt in the nicest way. It was all I could do not to start drooling, my heart beat taking up residence somewhere down between my thighs. And who could blame it? Not me. Maybe if I got laid, this would go away and things would return to normal. It’d seemed safer to avoid rubbing up against any men just in case I got carried away and started dating again. This new situation, however, changed everything.

“Well, of course not! That would be crazy.” And wasn’t that the god’s honest truth? Cray-zeee. Lock me up and throw away the key because it wasn’t like I didn’t know better.

“Just can’t figure out where the hell it could be.”

Angels couldn’t have smiled as innocently. They might have tried, but they would have failed, the dirty-mouthed, winged, little liars. “Jimmy, I don’t know where it is. But I’ll look around for it later, okay?”

“Yeah,” he said, and then added as an afterthought, “and stop looking at me weird.”

“I’m not!”

I’m always in control – but not with her. Emily makes me doubt myself, because she’s so important to me. Emily knows nothing of the lifestyle. I know she’s submissive, but I must take it slow.

Gradually, step-by-step, I’ll teach her to enjoy my particular brand of kink, my unique darker needs. She’ll learn to love what I love. What I need.

That is if both of us live long enough to complete her training.

Meet the Author

NikkiCocktail

Nikki Sex writes sexy contemporary romance, often involving a bit of kink. She’s a sucker for Happy Ever After endings, so no matter how dark my stories get, fear not! It always all works out in the end.

excerpt

I can’t move. I’m dying.

For an instant, I imagine someone finding my body. Will birds gather to peck at me? Is that how I’ll be discovered? By someone attracted by unusual animal activity?

For a moment I consider who might find me. Will it be someone I know? I can almost hear them yell, “Holy shit, that’s Paul Jarman!”

An excruciating spasm assaults me. My lungs seize. My body convulses. Internally, every part of me screams. My mouth falls open – but instead of shrieking, only a soft hiss issues from my throat, heralding my agony and despair.

The sound is pathetic. Is that tiny utterance the last noise I’m capable of making before I die?

There’s no one nearby to hear me, even if I’d been able to scream.

I’ve never been so alone.

I’ve also never felt such unbearable pain. Time stops. There’s only this one eternal moment, the agony of now.

I’m twenty-six years old. I’m too young to die. I’ve been an idiot most of my life. I’ve been an asshole… but just recently, I’ve learned so much. Everything has been coming together. If I live, I really think that I can make something of myself.

But I’m not going to live.

Inexorable pressure, like the invisible hand of some cruel giant, pushes down hard on my chest. No air! Each breath I take becomes more and more difficult. Wow. Is this what it feels like to be starved for oxygen? As a Dom I like breath play. It’s kind of karmic to be on the other side.

But I sure as fuck don’t get an erotic thrill from this.

I’m dizzy. My vision tunnels. The physical pain fades, but sadness stabs at me. This agony of heart and soul is intense. It’s worse than any bodily torment.

I have so many regrets.

My biggest sorrow comes from the thought of losing Emily. Not only losing her, but leaving her. Not being there for her. My one pure and perfect joy has come from Emily. I’m so grateful that I’ve had her in my life. She’s taught me so much.

If only we had more time together.

My sweet girl will be distraught. I can’t imagine how she will deal with my death. With all that I’m enduring, the thought of her pain is more than I can take. I forcefully shove the reflection away. I wish I could protect her from this.

Blood continues to pump from me. I feel its warmth flowing onto my chest. I’m floating in a mental haze. As I near death, I enter a strangely comfortable state of philosophical delirium.

Is it better to kill…or to be killed?

What if you took another person’s life by accident… say perhaps, through a moment of incompetent or distracted driving? That would create a burden of guilt that you’d have to live with for the rest of your life. It might even drive a person to suicide.

Premeditated murder assumes that one’s conscience is reconciled to committing such a sin. Once reaching that point, guilt and regret wouldn’t be an issue.

What about an impulsive murder of passion? Can one honestly justify killing another by pleading temporary insanity? Would a temporary loss of control lessen the burden of guilt afterwards? Even if someone still died by your hands?

But I’m not crazy. My actions didn’t result from temporary insanity. For me, it was pure animal instinct.
I killed on purpose.

As my life drains away, I smile because I know that if I had the chance, I’d do it again. Committing murder is one thing that I don’t regret.

Synopsis

Mia Lambert is beautiful, rich and used to having her own way. When it comes to intimacy, she makes her own rules. Convinced that she is selfish and self-centered like her mother, she stays away from matters of the heart. Mia’s rules leave her empty and unfulfilled, but she is too stubborn to change until Philippe strides into her life and challenges her to let him fulfill her wanton body’s desires.

Philippe Colson is every woman’s dream. Handsome and charming, he shows Mia passion beyond her wildest dreams. He has come to play, and when he does, he plays for keeps.

Will Mia allow her fears to rule her heart and leave her with an empty, guarded life or will she accept the challenge from Philippe and trust her heart to him?

excerpt

Mia came to a halt, her breath hitching in her throat, and she skidded to an abrupt stop in front of the refrigerator as she took in the tall figure leaning against her Quartzites and stone countertop.

“Philippe!” she squealed.

“Happy to see me, princess?” he asked, but the glint in his dark green eyes showed his displeasure.

Mia held on to the door of the refrigerator, her hand shaking slightly, hoping he didn’t see the affect he had on her.

“I…how did you get in here?” she asked, her voice rising. Mia had ignored his calls, emails and answered his text messages only in monosyllables for the past two months. Yeah, he was pissed! She was well aware that he is not the type of man to be put off and she had done just that.

“I appreciate your high tech security and your bodyguard, but I have my ways of getting what I want at times. You should know that tactic well.”

“Are you saying I’m used to having my own ways? Rich and spoiled? Fine, go ahead. Nothing I’ve not heard before.” Her bravado returned, but she took a step back as he pushed off the counter.

He took a swig of water from the bottle he held in his hand. “You are avoiding me and I want to know why the hell you are running.”

Her dress fell off her shoulder onto her arm and she attempted to pull it back in place, but her hand met with Philippe’s as he held the dress in place and ran his thumb across her skin. Her chest tightened as desire flooded her body.

Philippe’s hooded gaze held her eyes. He set the bottle of water on the counter and rubbed her other arm slowly, making his way to her back where he found the clasp to her bra and skillfully unsnapped it.

Mia’s lip caught in her teeth and her lids slid shut as she tried to repress a moan that was sure to escape her throat.

Philippe cupped her pert breast that fit perfectly in his large palm. None too gently he squeezed the pale pink nipple, encouraging the areolar to constrict, elongating her nipple between his thumb and index finger.

Her head dropped to his chest and lulled from side to side. She was never one to deny herself what she wanted and at this moment, she desperately wanted Philippe.

Truth be told, she’d always wanted him, ever since they met 15 months, 1 week and 2 day ago, but who was counting time…not her, surely. Keeping up with such minute details were for the weak, which she was not.

Philippe tilted her head back; her blonde hair framed her face and fell over her shoulders as she looked into his eyes. His tall frame loomed over her as his dark green eyes seeks hers out. Their breathing and the sound of the refrigerator humming were the only sounds in the room. Slowly he peeled back the dress and pink lacy demi bra off her shoulders and let them fall to the floor, pooling around her ankles.

She rubbed her breasts across his white linen shirt and the sensation of the material against them sent a wicked sensual sensation pooling down her center to the apex of the thighs.

Philippe crushed his mouth to hers and took her tongue in a wild kiss that lasted all of a few seconds. He spun her around and bent her at the kitchen island.

Her breasts came in contact with the cold hard countertop. She was bent at the waist pushing her ass toward his erection that ground into her bottom with no mercy.

A plea that sounded like a whimper left her lips. He slid a finger into her wet pussy that was now hot and slick. Slowly, he swirled his long finger around and around her need as Mia shook with desire. He pulled his finger from her slit that dripped with her essence and pushed it gently into her mouth.

Mia greedily sucked off her own juices, but before she could repeat the motion, he placed his palm on her ass and rubbed it one, twice, then with a stinging motion, spanked her with three quick successive snaps. Mia yelped from the surprise spanking that sent moisture rushing to her core. Before she could get her bearings, Philippe headed to the door.

“Play nice, or we don’t play at all. Will you answer the next time I call?”

His hand was on the front door and she wanted to plead with him to stay. “Yes, but…”

“Good.” He pulled open the door and it closed silently behind him.

Mia lay her head on the cool stone of the countertop and willed her breathing to return to normal. What the fuck just happened? She took stock of the situation that just took place and humiliation set into the pit of her stomach. How could he treat her that way? He waltzed into her place…

Oh, my God,” she whispered. “How did he get in… Invading my space, getting me naked, swirling his delicious finger in my, my…in me, spanking my ass and leaving! Who the hell does he think he is?” She felt the heat of a blush rising from her neck all the way to her hairline.

She sheepishly picked her clothes up off the floor and went to her bedroom where she put on a robe. Where the hell was her security and who is on duty? Well, they were doing a piss poor job of looking after her safety. Mia placed a call to the emergency number of the security detail that was on speed dial on her phone. She did not wait for proper identification, but snapped at the person and asked to speak with Greg Williams, the supervisor.

“Miss Lambert, how may I help you, ma’am?”

“Security on my loft was breached today and I want to know why no one told me about it.” She bit the words into the phone with clenched teeth.

“Come again, Miss Lambert? Someone was in your residence?”

“That is exactly what I am saying, Greg. How did he get in?”

“I am looking at the screen and your loft was accessed twice this evening, but both times the codes were entered correctly so there were no alarms. Are you OK, Miss Lambert?” His voice rang with concern.

“Yes, yes, I’m fine. I just don’t understand…”

“There is something that may be of some interest to you, ma’am. Mr. Philippe Colson bought our security company about a week ago. On the security camera he entered your residence about an hour before you got home today, but he has the code, which is why there was not an alarm.”

Fuck, fuck! Mia rubbed her temples and reassured Greg that there was just a misunderstanding and it was okay for Mr. Colson to enter her home. Now she really was pissed off. Embarrassed and pissed. She quickly placed her other call, her hand rubbing the back of her neck.

“I said I would call you, but to what do I owe the unexpected pleasure?”

“You bought the security company? Are you out of your fucking mind, Philippe?” she hissed into the phone.

“Just investing in other companies, my dear Mia. Diversity makes good business sense,” he replied.

“I can have you arrested for trespassing.”

“Ah, now you are insulting me, since I bought the property that houses your loft, as well. I was just checking on my investment.”

“What? You did what?” she yelled.

“As much as I would like to continue this pissing contest, I am at an important dinner meeting and must get back to my guests. Bye, princess.”

Mia stared at the phone in her hand. She could not believe the audacity of the man. How dare he hang up on her? She really wanted to call him back and slam the phone down on him but that was just too childish. The mattress dipped beneath her as she threw herself on her back and kicked her legs up and down. She glared at the brilliant white ceiling while her pulse raced.

I hate him, I do, I do.” Mia hoped that by repeating those words she would actually despise him, but she was lying about one thing for sure…Mia wanted the weight of his body on hers, wanted the touch of his lips and tongue on her womanhood, his fingers to slide in her core, his mouth to suck her clit until she screamed his name in ecstasy.
