If there’s one thing Rye Holcomb hates, it’s small, tight-knit towns with high virtues and zero tolerance for outsiders. Fidelity is just such a town. And Rye is just such an outsider. So when he and his brother, Cash, take jobs in Fidelity, Rye decides not to get too comfortable. Which is why he is avoiding some rather confusing feelings for his new boss, Cora McKay.

Cora was born, raised, and baptized in Fidelity. She owns a thriving construction business, has a close circle of friends, and is the breadwinner for her mother and four sisters. The one thing she lacks is a sex life, something she’s never longed for until now. One conversation with Rye sparks her sexual awakening, and, in spite of his reputation as a man-whore, Cora can’t resist giving in to his advances.

As Rye enjoys initiating his virgin employer, and Cash experiences a relationship with a man for the first time in his life, they begin to think of Fidelity as home. But small towns have brought them trouble in the past, and it appears Fidelity holds trouble for their future. Can their newfound relationships be enough to overcome a past that relentlessly follows them? Can two men who have been burned by love learn to trust again?

excerpt

He didn’t repeat himself. He hadn’t meant for the words to come out loud. What he asked instead was worse. “Why didn’t you wanna come fishing last night?”

For a moment, surprise and confusion clouded her eyes. She gave her head a little shake and said, “I believe I’ve answered that question. I prefer to keep my work life and social life separate.”

“In a town this size? Is that realistic?”

“It’s worked so far.”

“You were friends with Sam.”

“Sam didn’t flippantly screw every interested party who came his way.”

It wasn’t a literal punch to the gut, but Rye fell back a step anyway. “I’m just…” What? Lonely? Desperate? How was he supposed to finish that sentence?

“Listen, you should go,” she said. “The preacher’s heading this way.”

He blew out a breath, not at all sure of where he was standing. “If that’s the only thing you don’t like about me, we could still be friends. Nothing inappropriate about fishing together.”

“It sounds to me like we have very different definitions of fishing, and I have absolutely no desire to roll around on the river bank with you, Rye.”

That one hurt even worse. He shrugged, hoping the hurt didn’t show in his eyes. “Doesn’t have to be the river bank. We can roll around anywhere you want.”

Cora drew herself up tall, rolling her shoulders back. “Your employment history reads a lot like a rap sheet. Are you sure you want to add ‘sexually harassing your boss’ to the list of misdeeds?”

That was enough for him. The walls came right back up. He plugged the hole in that dam, no longer interested in entertaining someone else’s ideas of right and wrong. “Fuck it. Plenty of fish in the sea. Sorry for bothering you, Mrs. McKay.” He turned on his heel and left.

“She healed me. She broke me. I set her free. But we are in this together. We will end this together. The rules of this ancient game can’t be broken.”

Nila Weaver no longer recognises herself. She’s left her lover, her courage, and her promise. Two debts down. Too many to go.

Jethro Hawk no longer recognises himself. He’s embraced what he always ran from, and now faces punishment far greater than he feared.

It’s almost time. It’s demanding to be paid.

The Third Debt will be the ultimate test…

My Thoughts:

Man Pepper Winters does it every time! Jet and Nila have tried to stay apart and it just isn’t working………When we left off Nila has gone home and pretending that she is moving on with her life. Jethro is in major trouble with his family and no one can see what’s coming next.

Jet is becoming more Hawkish everyday and when he believes he knows the right thing to do to settle these debts…….he gets back the only person who can save him and kill him all at the same time. He turns his back on his own brother and sister all to please his father. He is heir to the HAWK empire who would be “crazy” enough to blow that chance?

Nila is starting to believe that she will be able to settle these debts on her terms, after having a scare that she’s never had before she starts to think that she will be able to trick the Hawks into breaking the debts. Nila knows her family wont understand so contacts Jet but when no response comes she starts to worry…….. She thinks that love can save all and no matter how far gone the love of her life is she can save him.

Pepper does another fantastic job of keeping us at the edge of our seats…….. you never know what you are going to get from her and this book is no different. We are nearing the end of this series and I am so afraid. I will give you a warning the ending of this book is WOW……………………………

HOW HAD THIS happened?
Where did it all go so wrong?
Jethro was supposed to love me. I was supposed to love him.
Yet he’d given me over to his family. He’d bound the ropes, blindfolded my eyes, and gifted me to his kin.
“Know what time it is, Nila Weaver?” Daniel breathed in my ear.
I jerked away. The restraints around my body meant I couldn’t run, couldn’t fight; I couldn’t even see.
Oh, God.
Please don’t let them do this.
I wanted to scream for Jethro to save me. I wanted him to put an end to this and claim me once and for all. Didn’t our connection mean anything?
You know it’s all different now.
Ever since I’d returned to Hawksridge Hall, things had been different—horribly, horribly different.
The fire crackled in the billiards room where the Hawk men had been playing poker. The air was hot and muggy and laced with cognac fumes.
Tonight, I’d had plans to end whatever changed between Jethro and me forever.
But now…those plans had changed.
Kestrel ran his fingers over my collar. “Relax, little Weaver. It will all be over soon.”
Cut chuckled. “Yes, soon you can go to sleep and pretend none of this happened.”
My ears strained for one other voice. The voice of the man who controlled my heart even though he’d thrown it back in my face.
But only silence greeted me.
Daniel snickered, licking my cheek. “Time to pay, Weaver.”
Someone clapped and in a voice full of darkness and doom said, “It’s time for the Third Debt.”

I shook my head, my heart smarting with pain. “What happened to you?” I reached for him, wanting to clutch his forearm and reassure myself that our bond was still there.
With a sneer, he sidestepped, staying out of reach. “What happened to me?” Smiling coldly, he made me seem as if I were some idiot child asking for the universe’s secrets. “I got better. That’s what happened to me.”
“I don’t—I don’t understand. You weren’t ill.”
“You wouldn’t understand. No one can understand another’s problems. All you need to know is that I’m cured and I won’t make the same mistakes again.”
I took a step back, goosebumps scattering over my body. “Don’t say that. I’m in love with you. Something like that cannot be undone—”
“Love is a chemical imbalance, Ms. Weaver. I am no longer imbalanced.” He came closer. “Don’t get cold feet on your invitation. You promised you would come, and you don’t want to give me a reason to punish you so soon…do you?”
My skin pinpricked with panic. That sentence should’ve dripped with eroticism. But it wasn’t. It was cold…lifeless…like him.
Snapping his fingers, Jethro held out his hand. He kept his digits curled slightly so I couldn’t see the tattoo marks on the tips. “Come. I want to be back at Hawksridge before sunrise.”

Nila dropped the jumper onto the desk, cupping her breasts. “Does this count as acceptable to you?”
I couldn’t breathe.
Everything I’d been running from made my head pound, my cock beg, and the drugs in my system to fucking disintegrate.
What was it about her? Why did she have this control over me? And why was I utterly, ridiculously helpless around her?
God fucking help me.
Didn’t she know the more she antagonised me and made me slip, the more likely Cut would give her to Daniel and fucking slaughter me in my sleep? I wanted to strike her—hammer the precariousness of our situation home.
“Why did you bring me here?” she murmured, skirting the desk.
I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the hard pinpricks on her chest. She couldn’t be cold—not in this furnace. That meant she was turned on.
My mind instantly went to one question. Is she wet?
“Kes told you. Our secrets are now yours.”
“I don’t think that’s the only reason.” Closing the distance, she licked her bottom lip. “I think you wanted me off the estate, so you could have me without anyone seeing.” Her voice layered with sex and invitation. “You wanted me away from the cameras, so you could drop the act and show me the truth.”
Fuck.
I cleared my throat. “What truth?”
“That all of this is a lie. That you’re still the man I fell for—playing the same game you said you were sick of before I left.”
Shaking my head, I tried to clear my thoughts. “You’re once again delusional.” Swallowing hard, I ordered, “Go down to the sorting floor. I have a meeting to take care of—”
“No,” she breathed. “I’m not going anywhere until you stop being an asshole and show me the real you.” Closing the final distance, she stood beside me, crackling with mischief and lust.
Locking eyes, she undid the button and zipper of her jeans. “Don’t hide from me, Jethro. I can’t stay strong if you cut me out.”
My legs bunched to push the swivel chair backward. One heave and I could launch myself free and run from her web. But somehow, I couldn’t. I remained tethered in place; breathing fast, fear swamping my lungs.
She grabbed my wrist. “Don’t fight it. You can’t fight the inevitable.” Without a word, she pressed my hand into her trousers.

Chef R.G. Emanuelle and sous chef Andi Marquette locked themselves in the kitchen to create a menu that would explore the sensuous qualities of food and illustrate how the act of preparing and eating it can engage many more senses than simply taste and smell. They gathered a great group of cooks who put together an array of dishes, and they present to you here a menu that ranges from sweet and romantic to sultry and seductive, from relationships enjoying a first taste to those that have moved beyond the entrée.

Each story also ends with a recipe. Some of these require cooking implements while others are whimsical accompaniments that don’t require cooking at all—at least not in the traditional sense. After all, food serves as more than sustenance—it’s a trigger for love, laughter, sex, pleasure, and carnal and sensory satisfaction. Whatever your palate prefers, you’re sure to find something tasty here.

excerpt

“Crème Brûlée”, by Sacchi Green

The newcomers seemed to be busy building a fire of driftwood on the beach. I moved my car to the far end of the parking lot. In the glow of the overhead light I leaned over the front seat into the back to get y treasures out of the chilly container. Raf took the opportunity to knead my upturned butt and tease between my thighs, but with a steel-willed effort I got the ramekins safely onto a towel folded on the front seat between us.

“Crème brûlée!” I said triumphantly. “Have you ever had it?”

“Just seen it on restaurant menus a time or two without paying attention. What’s it mean? Bruised cream?”

“That sounds intriguingly kinky, but no. More like broiled cream. The top is covered with raw sugar, melted under a broiler or a propane torch, and then it hardens like glass.” I dug some plastic spoons out of the side pocket on the door where I tend to shove them when I get drive-through coffee.

“Dig in,” I said, knowing what would be likely to happen. Raf’s spoon broke on the mottled golden surface.

“You’re the stonecutter in this crew, she said. “You do it.”

I took out my pocketknife, covered it in plastic wrap that had protected the desserts, and brought it down hard on one sugar-glazed portion. Cracks rayed out, letting glimpses of the inner custard show through. “That’s yours. Now you break my shell.”

She did it with one hand, while the other pulled my head close for a long, sensuous kiss. Finally, she pulled away. “So did I break through?”

I couldn’t even remember whether we’d done anything as slow and sweet as kissing last year. “Oh, yeah.” I was breathless. “No shell left at all.”

“Looks like some crunchy bits left in the dishes.” She took my spoon and scooped up some of the rich creamy custard along with fragments of sugar glaze. “Mmm. Now I know what you see in this. Such rich, smooth cream inside that stony exterior.” She took another bite, then offered me one. We alternated with the spoon, feeding each other, until the last bites were accidentally-on-purpose smeared across our lips. The licking and kissing that followed got us so revved up that driving all the way back to Wellfleet without relief was out of the question, so I pulled off at the Pilgrim Springs Trail parking lot, mercifully unoccupied.

A Nicki Sosebee Collection By Jade C Jamison

JadeNickiSeriesTourButton

nickisosebeebookset1

synopsis

A Kindle exclusive: The first four books in the Nicki Sosebee series in one neat bundle. If you liked Jade C. Jamison’s Tangled Web, you’ll love the Nicki Sosebee series.

Got the Life: Nicki Sosebee has been working low-paying jobs ever since she finished school, but now that she’s older, she wants more. She’s a novice reporter trying to learn the ropes. Just as she’s getting her career goals on track, though, her love life gets worse and worse. Sure, she has no problems picking up good-looking guys for brief flings, but relationships? Out of the question. Maybe it’s because Sean, her gorgeous best friend, just can’t see her as more than a buddy. So when Sean encourages her as she pursues her first headline-producing story, Nicki realizes that her life’s pretty sweet…if only she can live long enough to see tomorrow’s front page.

Thoughts:

Got the Life (Nicki Sosebee #1)
The first book goes into detail of Nicki’s life and how she is struggling to be a real reporter. Taking my multiple stories to help get her on the front page news. At the same time Nicki was trying to change her relationship with her best friend, Sean. Nicki wanted to bad to move beyond the friend zone, Sean could be the love of her life only Nicki had no idea how to make it happen. So in the meantime she took up the offers of other gorgeous men she was able to snatch up. In this book Nicki hits her first big story, only it just might cost her her life.

Dead: Nicki’s love life might suck, but her sex life is great. The only way both could be spectacular would be if her best friend Sean would look at her as more than just a friend. Nicki knows she’s stuck in the friend zone, so she focuses her energies on her job. She’s becoming a better reporter every day, so when her editor asks her to interview a local politician, Nicki is thrilled. But when the politician’s secretary ends up dead, it’s anybody’s guess as to who did it. Nicki has a few ideas, though, and finds herself in deep trouble as she pokes her nose where she thinks it belongs.

Thoughts:

Dead (Nicki Sosebee #2)
When one of the employee’s of the person you are investigating winds up dead, Nicki will be there to write about it. She may just solve the crime, hopefully without getting into too much danger. Nicki tries to focus on the story at hand and find out who is the murderer. Many people think Nicki needs to stay out of it, but Nicki also doesn’t care what people think. And that is what makes Nicki just a great character

No Place to Hide: The Winchester Tribune publishes an article warning the women of Winchester that there is a sexual predator on the loose in the streets of the town they once thought was safe. Danger doesn’t stop Nicki, though, and it’s not till it’s too late that she discovers the criminal in the place she least suspects. And there’s no one who can save her this time. Meanwhile, she decides that her new love interest Jesse might be worth more of her time…but he’s not making it easy.

Thoughts:

No Place to Hide (Nicki Sosebee #3)
Sean has a new lady friend and it isn’t sitting well with Nicki. So when she is able to celebrate Sean’s garage opening anniversary she is going to make sure he knows just how much he means to her. Things don’t exactly go her way, but Jesse is sure there to help make her feel better. Nicki is deciding to take a chance on another guy, while investigating the town’s danger towards women. The town has made it a point to make sure the women protect themselves, danger is lurking somewhere and causing trouble. Let me tell you even though things are a little dangerous, Nicki’s life sure does get steamy!!!

Right Now: Nicki is becoming a better reporter, so much so that her boss Neal leans on her more and more to get the good stuff. So when a rash of robberies hits the downtown Winchester area, Nicki is reporting the damage…and probably getting a little too close for the bad guys’ comfort. As if that weren’t enough, Nicki finds herself in a full-fledged love triangle between Jesse and Sean…and she can’t bear to choose between them.

Thoughts:

Right Now (Nicki Sosebee #4)
Nicki is finally being noticed from all of her stories she has been reporting, her boss is so happy he give Nicki a new big story. So now Nicki is reporting all the robberies happening in the town, and once again this is putting Nicki in the way of these criminals. So of course that means Danger! Nicki thinks she should focus more on her career, because her love life is complicated. The love triangle between Sean and Jesse is getting crazy, so Nicki thinks maybe she isn’t a one man kind of woman.

Discover what other Jade C. Jamison fans have been buzzing about!

Warning: Not for the faint of heart! This book contains explicit sex and naughty language. Proceed with caution…if you dare.

nickisosebeebookset2

synopsis

A Collection of Nicki Sosebee Novels 5-8

ONE MORE TIME: Nicki notices there is a big problem with the homeless population in Winchester, and the local shelter doesn’t have any more room for them. Nicki becomes irate when the City Council decides to do everything in its power to drive the homeless out of town, because she has other ideas. Meanwhile, she and Jesse are still going strong, if they can keep everyone else out of their business.

Thoughts:

One More Time (Nicki Sosebee #5)
In this book Jade truly shows the real problems we have with no room at shelters for the homeless. She truly show cases the compassion and heart with Nicki. Nicki has found the one story that she truly wants to use to help make a difference but city counsil isn’t helping to make it any easier. Even though she is having issues with her story things in her life are starting to even out. Sean and Nicki are finally back on “friend” ground, and she is moving right along with Jesse. You truly are happy for Nicki in this book.

LOST: Nicki and Jesse have broken up again, but this time it’s for good. She realizes how much Jesse meant to her when she finds it hard to fly solo. And she’s lost her touch, striking out with one guy after another. Her BFFs Brandy and Jillian try to take her mind off her pain, and Nicki finally reveals to them why she’s never been able to forget about Sean, but she doesn’t miss the opportunity to get down and dirty with a local rock star. In the meantime, the teenage daughter of a Winchester lawyer is kidnapped, and Nicki reports on the crime, hoping readers can offer clues to the authorities and find the girl…before it’s too late. But what Nicki discovers leaves her horrified.

Thoughts:

Lost (Nicki Sosebee #6)
Once again things are crazy in NIcki’s world. Jesse and Nicki are over, and Nicki now realizes just how much she truly cared for him, but she just can’t get over Sean. Nicki finally comes clean with her girlfriends on why she is hung up on Sean. So what better way to mead a broken heart than to try it out with a rockstar. On the work front though, Nicki is starting to report on a kidnapping. Not just any kidnapping, but its the daughter of one of the lawyer’s in town. Nicki is seriously starting to look at her little hometown with a whole new perspective.

INNOCENT BYSTANDER: Nicki, now disillusioned, realizes that she is but a tiny cog in a big machine, and she begins to feel like she’s going to be swallowed up. As she opens her eyes to all that’s around her, her life begins to fall apart. She loses her car, her apartment, and almost loses her job, all to circumstances beyond her control, and the bad guys have nothing to do with it. But, through adversity, Nicki learns what she’s made of. She begins to dig deep into the underbelly of Winchester, and she finds that the drug trade isn’t just for the junkies.

Thoughts: This is one of those times you want to say when it rains it pours, isn’t that the truth, car, apartment, almost job… what else could go wrong for her. She is finding things just aren’t what they seem. She may have lost a man she didn’t even know she had feelings for, but now she could be getting deeper into things she didn’t really know existed. As we have said before Nicki is one tough chic and that still wont prepare your for the things that go bump in the night.

BLIND: Nicki is angry. Now that she’s seen what the people in power will do to keep their control, she knows she has to play it safe. She’s threatened to topple their thrones and they’re feeling nervous. But she’s also feeling guilty about the murder of a prostitute whom she thinks she was responsible for, so she makes it her mission to help all the women of the night working in Winchester. And she does it the only way she knows how—by reporting what she’s learned. And with Sean behind her, she knows she can do anything she’s set her mind to.

Nicki Sosebee is a strong woman who’s not afraid to go after what she wants, whether it’s a man or a story. She’s tough and her mouth shows it. She’s a free spirit and feels no need to apologize for who she is or what she believes in.

Thoughts: With Sean back in the for front of Nicki’s love life she feels like she can do anything. Nicki knows that reporting what she has seen could end very badly for her but at this point she just doesn’t care…. Nicki once again shows you that her balls are made of steal. She is finally on her way to her big break I just hope nothing messes that up for her.

about the author

jade c jamison (1)

Jade C. Jamison was born and raised in Colorado and has decided she likes it enough to stay forever. Jade’s day job is teaching Creative Writing, but teaching doesn’t stop her from doing a little writing herself.

Unfortunately, there’s no one genre that quite fits her writing. Her work has been labeled romance, erotica, suspense, and women’s fiction, and the latter is probably the safest and closest description. But you’ll see that her writing doesn’t quite fit any of those genres.

You’ll have to discover Jade’s writing for yourself to decide if you like it
